Thank you for booking a session with Lynette Wilkinson Photography! The following information will help you prepare for your upcoming session to get the best possible images that you will love. If you have any questions at all, please ask!
Before Your Session
Please complete the questionnaire sent to you in a separate email. Your responses remain strictly confidential and simply allows me to get to know your family and helps me plan your session.
Review the Pricing Guide and consider how you would like to display the images in your home? How do you want to see them in 5 or 10 years? On the wall as a framed portrait or canvas? Or maybe in an album?
For in-home sessions, I'll need to photograph in rooms with the best natural light. In most cases, this is usually the lounge/family room, master bedroom or the nursery/children's bedroom. Have a think about the type of photos you would like. Do you prefer candid, lifestyle photos, or would you like more formal posed photos? Don't stress about the mess! Life can get messy with a young family, so a quick tidy up is all you need. As a minimum, I recommend making the beds, and clearing away anything you don't want to see in the background of your photos from the table, bench, and side tables.
What to Wear. Clothing can make an impact in professional photos. Wear something that you feel great in and that allows you to sit comfortably. If you would like to colour co-ordinate I recommend starting with a natural base and adding complementing pops of colour. Please avoid wearing logos and bold patterns as these tend to date and can be distracting from your beautiful faces! At Your Session
When I arrive at your session, we’ll have a chat and I’ll ask you to show me the rooms you would like to be photographed in. Depending on how the kids are going, I’ll try and photograph them first with the family. If you need to feed your baby, please go ahead. If you would like breastfeeding photos, please let me know.
I’ll have a few blankets and wraps for the kids to sit on or to wrap the baby with, however if you have sentimental items such as toys, blankets, rings, old photos, etc that you’d like to include, please have them ready and I can incorporate them into your session.
I'll guide you into poses along the way, so all you need to do is relax and let me do all the work.
Your session will take approximately one hour.
After Your Session
At the end of your session, I'll pack away my gear and let you know what happens next. We can schedule in your Viewing & Ordering session now, or if you would prefer a private online gallery to view and choose your images just let me know. The proof images will be ready to view in approximately 2 weeks after your session.
If you choose an in person Viewing & Ordering session, I will come back to your home to present your images to you via a slideshow. This appointment is where you choose your favourite images and order your products. I will be there to answer any questions you have and help you choose the best sizes for wall prints.
If you choose a private online gallery, you will be emailed a password protected link to view the proof images at your leisure. The online gallery will remain active for 5 days for you to make your selections. These are watermarked, low resolution images, not suitable for printing, and are available for you to choose your favourites. Once you have selected your favourites, you can then email me with your choices.
Once you've decided on your favourite images and products, I'll invoice you for you to make payment. Your session fee will be deducted from your final order. Once payment is received, I'll start preparing and placing your order. Depending on what you have purchased determines when your products will arrive. Digital collections take approximately 2 weeks, canvas and framed prints take approximately 3 weeks, and albums take approximately 4-6 weeks.
And finally, once your products are ready, you'll receive an email from me to arrange delivery. We will schedule a time for me to deliver your portraits.
